Do 15" wheels fit 1ga (no big brakes)?
What dimensions would be needed?

Thanks in advance.

I read somewhere that dodge Caravan 15" steel wheels will bolt right up, but never tried it.

15" wheels fit 1g?

This is my exact question, so I won't start a new thread. I'm interested in a lightweight 15" wheel for my car (no big brakes) because of more cushioning for the wheels on our crappy potholed Prince George roads and because smaller is lighter which means better performance for braking, cornering and accelerating.  Will this work? I was thinking of 15" Motegi Trak Lites, forged or course. Thanks

From the 1000FAQ.

http://members.shaw.ca/costall/1000Q/answers-wheels.htm#WhatOEMwheelsfitmy[DSM]

It says they're good for big brakes too so you should have no problem fitting a wheel on small brakes.  I saw on tv that you can get this multi arm setup that bolts onto the hub then you spin it around and keep moving everything in until there's no more clearance, then just take the measurements off and you have everything you need to order up a set of wheels.  Maybe a local shop has something like that.

Thanks Mike. I forgot that I'd read that 1000Q before, although it's not conclusive that any 15" alloy wheel with the right bolt pattern and offset will clear the brakes and struts, right? :?

My local shops seem pretty ignorant about aftermarket wheel fitment. All they will do is order them in and do a test fitment before mounting tires on them.

I fit stock 15" rims from an MPV on mine with the big brakes on the front no problem. Looked funny as hell with 205-70-15s hehe. Compaired to my 30 series.

Yeah, bolt pattern and offset are not enough to garantee fitment.  When you go to 4 piston brakes and the like apparently some 17's don't even clear the brakes just because of spoke design.

Have you tried researching on other boards?  15's aren't a real common thing, then especially aftermarket 15's.    I looked around a little but no luck except a mention of 15" Kosei K1s and Volk te37s.  I think some GVR-4s had 15" rims from factory too.

All GVR4 and Galant GSX with alloys had 15"wheels, but they are 4 stud lugs.  I didn't realise this till I bought my GSX, and realized I couldn't put TSi wheels on it.

I know this is not directly related to the ? asked, but I'd hate to have someone buy some stock Galant wheels and have them be completely useless to him.

:agreed:  Thanks everyone for your input. I'll be checking the other dsm forums for experiences of use. I bet the rally guys use 15's for gravel rallys.
