I got the car last summer, but didn't make it on to the forum untill now so I thought I'd put up some pics of it.  These were taken in december.  The back normally doesn't have quite that gap but the tank is completely empty in these pics.

Let me know what you think :)

I've always been a fan of the Optional Factory body trim on the 1gb Laser.

She's a Beauty.

Turbo? AWD? Any performance mods?

Thanks!  Yeah I like the trim too, and it just about matches the rims since I painted them gunmetal (used to be black) so now it visually kind of continues that through the wheels.  Details about my car are in my sig now, still getting up to speed on the site :burnout: .

Nice.  I think I might like it a little better without the spoiler tho.  Lasers are cool.  My next 1G will be a 92-94 Laser I think...  Or maybe a Laser conversion...

That's Rishad's old car isn't it?

IMHO looks much better with the gunmetal wheels instead of black.  Black wheels always look like ghetto steel wheels.  Unless they have a big polished lip or something.

Yup I bought it from Rishad.  It's cool to hear that another member worked on it! I was kind of worried at the time about a bunch of ICBC claims on it from the owner before that that he didn't know about, but I really wanted a dsm so I went for it.  And so far the only problem that I've had is a broken alternator pulley/belt :) *knock on wood* :?

Kenji, if you mean north parkade at ubc then yeah, I parked there alot last semester..not so much now I'm tryin to take the bus more often.  I swear that place bleeds us dry for parking.  I might have seen you, what does your car look like?  I remember seeing a maroon talon with (I think) bc dsm stickers on campus before.

And thanks for the compliments guys, I'll pass them on to the car :P.

Don't worry Jamie, I'm in the same boat as you man.

But I wont care when all they can see is my ghetto electrical taped over holes where a soiler used to be, pulling ahead of them, getting further and further away.    :P

Hahaha John.  I was actually thinking about your car when I wrote that.  Which is why I added the "unless they have a polished lip" part.  I quite like the black wheels on your car but they're also set off by the black roof and spoiler and mirrors which the Laser's don't have.  The polished lip tells you from a distance too that they're not steel wheels too.  The other thing that can help black wheels is tiny spokes and massive shiny bright painted brakes behind them.

For me it's that first impressions thing, I see some Prelude or something with a body kit and nice paint and everything and black wheels and think WTF, why didn't he save a little money for a set of freakin' wheels, or at least leave the hubcaps on.  Then I get closer and see they're actually mags.  But I can't shake the initial repulsion.  Like seeing a girl in a little black dress and dirty old sneakers, it just looks bad.   :P

With gunmetal wheels, even in lower light or at a quick glance, you can see the difference between the wheel and the tire colour and see that the tires are low profile, and then you can make out the spokes against the black background of the wheel well.
