BCDSM Meet Friday Oct. 7th~9th Ashcroft road trip and drags.
« on: September 30, 2005, 06:44:12 am »
Ok, for all those in the lower mainland that want to take a cruise up to Ashcroft to meet up with some interior buddies for some fun and track action here is the plan.

This plan is considering a moderate amount of traffic - we may get there 15 minutes earlier or later depending.

6:pm Friday Evening morning : Meet at the Guildford McDonalds parking lot (on 152nd across from Guildford shopping center)
6:30pm leave McDonalds for Whatcom road exit past Abbotsford
7:15pm apx - Arrive at PetroCan at Whatcom road exit for gas, Tim Hortons, a car check, and to meetup with any members from Upper Fraser Valley.
7:30pm Head to Ashcroft
10:00pm Arrive at the Ashcroft Track (Suggestons for a meeting spot needed)
10:01pm - Commence partying  :D... and scout out lodging options

Sunday morning - whenever: Have breakfast then Head back to Vancouver as a convoy

Detailed driving Directions << Click HERE

NOTE:
we can get a place to crash or pitch tents (I have 2)
Count on 1.5+ tanks of gas most - plus booze, food etc so this journey will likely run ya a few bucks.

Who is committing?

1) Marty van den Bosch

ANYONE have a place for us to stay up there Friday night?

2) John and Carmen.
3) Paul Chernoff - depends if kinetic gets my turbo back to me in time.

Already ripped out my intercooler and piping, gotta clean it all out, that turbo sure made a mess of things, intercooler caught all the big chunks though  :D

Might be a good idea to leave earlier if everyone agrees to it, would be nice to get out there early so the people racing will have all day to race and not have to rush to get a few runs in. Danny, what time do they race till?

racing usually runs till about 4ish... but most likely later on saturday, because they are re-running the remainder of a rain out day after running the regular schedule.

oh,  and don't forget, there will be racing on sunday too, it's purely a test and tune day, so essentially you'll get in as many runs as you have gas for or until you break something (in my case lol!)

my suggestion is to meet up there friday night, that way you'll be at the track on time in the morning for tech inspection at approx 8:00am, and be ready to start racing by 9. Then we can all head home saturday night, or sunday if the weather is good and if we want to race on sunday as well.

sounds good boys, glad to see some support from the coast!

as for meeting location at the track, the street legal pits are always right near the finish line (the pits run parallel to the track). At least that's where we've been told to pit because we do tend to become....loud.. and... drunk.. into the wee hours of the morning, while not disturbing the rest of the racers camping in the pits!

as for accomodation... everyone always camps up at the track... be it sleep in a tent or car. But if someone just isn't a camper type.. they do have a couple motels in cache creek ( 10mins north)

as for ammenities.. cache creek has a chevron with 94 octane fuel, so no need to worry about running out, and they do have a few restaurants, places to grab a bite to eat.

Track fees are usually paid with cash(35 per day+10 camping for the whole weekend), so make sure to bring some, as there are no debit machines there.

Oh and one last thing.. Once you take the first turn off that the signs point towards ashcroft.. about 100feet off the highway, you take a left into the track entrance. (It's really easy to find, but just want to clarify so there's no confusion, as cell phone service at the track is sketchy, and only if your on bell/telus.. rogers people get screwed with 0 service!)

well, from the looks of things, its just me and you going from the lower mainland, not sure about demick due to clutch issues, i think i'll be ready to head out there saturday morning, have to go pick up my new turbo tomorrow morning and get everything back together which wont take me too long, and do a little tuning and i'll be ready to go.
