spare wire near oil filter ??

I have been meaning to ask this for over a year now. I remember every time I change my oil and forget soon after.

There is a 16ga wire with a broken connector, not attached to anything, that is wrapped around the 12ga wire that connects to the filter housing. This has been this way since I got my car and I have no idea where it is supposed to go or what it does. If anyone has an idea what it is for, maybe I can hook it up. :roll:

Does your stock oil pressure guage work?  If it doesn't then it might go on the pressure transducer that is in behind this.  It always seems to fall off.

My oil gauge has always worked...Well as good as any stock one does :wink:

I think that wire is for  the oil pressure switch.

Ah, yes. That has never come on. It may be because it's not connected or it may be because I've never been stupid enough to run out of oil.

Seriously, its somewhere on the oil cooler thingy.... I can't recollect off hand exactly where, and I'm not crawling under my car right now to try to find it either.  

Something under there must have a connector tab sticking out.  Might be really dirty and hard to see.   :wink:

yeah, thanks. the tab is still in the dagling connector that's why I've never figured it out myself.
