Yah I just checked weather forecast myserlf and it don't look good  :x .  You never know though, it's not exactly an exact science  :roll: .  So how bad does it have to get in order for them to cancel the drags?

I looked at Mission in the weathernetwork.com's website and it said friday sun with a POP of 40% so its not bad, quite often theweathernetworks site changes usually to the better.

Invited a buddy of mine from work to come out to mission on Friday (He's into VWs) So now he's gonna come out and bring good 5-6 friends of his.  Beefed up VR6s and shit.  Gonna be rad.

I do have a bitch helmet, but it doesn't conform to snell 2000 specs, in fact, I'd be surprised if it conforms to any spec :roll: .  I can bring it for you John, but I can't guarantee it'll pass like mine will.  Want me to still bring it?

I have this wacko motorcycle helmet.  It wont pass jack squat but since my car doesnt run anywhere near 14s, I'll probably get to wear it.  :laugh:

I think you only need it to conform to Snell 95 right?  I believe that's what it says on the rules.  I brought one there that looks like it was from the 70s...all scratched up and cloth inserts peeling...it didn't pass... :laugh:  But otherwise as long as it's SN95 and up, its fine.

What if my car doesnt run faster than 14 seconds? Do they care what kind of helmet I use?  Oh and by the way, I asked the question before but noone answered, how bad does the weather have to be for them to shut down the drags?

You do NOT need a helmet to run 14+.  They will NOT let a helmet into the pit if they know it's out of date...they kept mine and I picked it up at the end of the night.  Rain, I'm really not sure what they do.  They just say to call them at 4pm and they'll tell you if it's canceled etc.  Since there are mostly 2wds racing, I don't think they'll race if the track gets wet, even slightly.

oh that sucks oh well, the forecast doesnt look too good so probably would be a good idea to call them up 1st.  as for helmet, mine's really crappy so i guess i wont bother bringing it.

if it's iffy, they usually wait a couple hours before they call it, if it stops raining they'll start the Mission 500 to dry out the track which is really fun actually, gives you a chance to do pass after pass after pass, just no launching.

If it's pouring and there's no chance of drying it out they'll call it. Weather at the track is usually never consistent with anywhere else so always good to atleast go down there.

Actually if you have a crappy helmet, you COULD just sneak it in, (with the spare tire, in a bag etc, and take it out after tech.  That's of course if you still feel comfortable using the helmet.

thats weird tho, what's better a crappy helmet or none at all?  i guess they dont want me passing the helmet to anyone else.
