I had my 88 cobra and my 90 talon at the same time, also tested the theory against ozziechans 94 AWD. with free mods and couple other stuff him running 16 psi he would always hammer me top end. which is weird. for some reason my car always got traction  custom rebuilt tranny.(auto) :oops: but yah any talon with some free mods. could give em a run. running higher boost they would be your bitch.

My first car was my beautiful 91 plymoth laser turbo, that im driving right now. Just rebuilt the head, and soon the engine with be going into my AWD project car I SHOULD be pickin up in a couple weeks.

So I lose ...very badly. lol

I had a 84 chevette with the bigger of the engines, I beleive it was the 2.4, but I never insured it, just rallied the piss out of it down the local logging roads.

and hey, I'm on the island, could someone tell me how much it cost to go race at mission, all the fees etc, I know what is required..but I don't know how much.

Fiday Night Street Legal Race Admission - Spectators and Racers:

Gates open at 4:30 pm, racing starts at 5:30pm and ends at approx. 11:00pm (weather permitting).
Spectator admission - $5.00
Racer admission-$25.00 (includes car & driver)
Children 12 and under always FREE with an adult
parking always FREE
Please note that tech cards will be sold from 5:00pm until dark, or 7:30pm (there is a 225 maximum count on race car entries).
No spectators are permitted to park in the Pitt area.

Now Wayne the chevette never came with a large engine. It did however come with the  1.6L gas or the 1.8 diesel.  

Unless you got creative or someone before you put a 2.8 in there  those are the only sizes they came with stock. (yes there are other worldwide variants of the chevette)

yep, Chevette came with the little brother of the 2.5 Iron Duke, in 1.6l gas and the kerosene version too.

And there have been some creative swaps out there.

Guy at work has a 3.8 with some mild mods in his '84.  And is working on a med modded 4.3 ;)

went 14.9 with the 3.8 2bbl setup.
