NT vs. turbo tb differences
« on: February 21, 2005, 12:30:58 pm »
Hey, my main question is can you use a NT tb on a turbo car.
I've searched this topic and came up empty, and have had some input from some members already.

I have been told that the NT lacks the same emissions lines and coolant lines that the turbo tb has.  So if you had your emissions lines removed and your fiav blocked off; coolant lines re-routed, than would you beable to use the NT tb?  Is it the same size and shape as the turbo one?

I see people on ca.dsm selling NT tb's and saying that its an upgrade for turbo cars.
But if it were bigger than the turbo tb wouldn't you have to port match the intake manifold to the tb to make it function properly?

And are the isc's and tps the same for both NT and turbo tb's?

Thanks for any input.

The NT throttle body is bigger and is considered an upgrade for turbo cars.  Not to sure about the emissions though

so if its bigger, would the turbo tb elbow bolt up to it the same , and would you have to port the intake manifold to match it aswell?
It doesn't seem like it being bigger would be an advantage unless your tb elbow was equally as big aswell as your port into the intake .

The elbow will not bolt up bacause the NT TB doesn't use an elbow.  It's roughly like a turbo TB but with a chunk of tube ~1.25" long sticking out of it.  You would either need a UICP with part of an elbow on it already or a silicone elbow.

It's definitely not something you can just bolt on and be done with.  I could look into the electronics side but the UICP would be needing some work for sure.
