cracked turbine housing

I got my 14b in the mail today and there are 2 cracks at the wastegate.
Is this going to affect drivability much? there is a little side to side shaft play as well but no in/out play and it doesn't make contact with the housing.[/img]

Well it depends just how much side to side play, brand new turbos have a very minute amount.  My 14b has about half a cm, the exhaust wheel can contact the housing, that is when its too old.  And how big are these cracks, how deep, and in the housing around the wastegate? Or what?

side play is ~1/32"

does it matter how much will leak past the flapper?

If it leaks past the flapper some the car will still work, just that spool up will be slow.  The more that leaks past the flapper the more you spoolup will suffer.
