need more clutch help
« on: January 26, 2005, 03:49:47 pm »
ok i replaced my master cylender, and rebuilt my slave.. ive blead the clutch.. my clutch had pressure. i left it over night, now it has weak pressure. when i push my clutch in i hear a belt squeeling noise and it doesnt go into gear. i cant see any visible leaks in the lines. is there somthing that relates to the clutch on the water pump side of the engine? Thats where the squeeling noise seems to come from.

Shift fork?  Or maybe the noise is your throwout bearing whining?

Get a dial gauge with magnetic mount, mount to chassis, put the pin on a smooth part of the crank pulley, pry the crank pulley inwards towards the engine, and then have somebody press the clutch and watch for how much the dial gauge changes aka the crank moves out.  It should be about 7 thou is spec if I remember right, double check that, but it's doubtful you are crank walking with the 6.
