anyone know what this is?
« on: January 13, 2005, 10:17:41 am »
i ripped out all the trim from my trunk and on the passenger side wall, near the bottom, i would guess slightly below and behind the gas cap and wheel well, there is this rectangular box protruding out.  its about the size of a small remote control and has about 8 vented flappy things on the front of it.  just wondering if anyone knew what it was or what it is for.

i'll try and take a picture of it but not sure if i can at the moment.  thanks

vent... depressurize the car most likely... and and flaps are used to decrese noise and water to get in easily.

I think.

its for if you slam a door or the trunk with all the windows closed.  It lets out pressure so that seals don't blow.
