SAFC II TROUBLE

installation was a breeze. now the only problem is its suck in DEC.AIR mode. 1g's dont use this. so i think the safc is frozen or something. is there any way to flash it so it restarts like its brand new never installed or something?

I've had several of those lock up on me

It's a safety feature that prevents adjustments from accidently being made

I think you have to hold the joystick up for 3 sec or down, or something

I would imagine that the instructions tell you.

Van Neer figured it out, and he's no rocket scientist :wink:

all that corrosion is right where the joystick is. i think its the corrosion... ill try the joystick 3 seconds thing though...

joystick up/down for x seconds didnt work. i can select Thr, Ne1, and Ne2. thats all i can do tho. just up and down. i think the joystick solders are so fried that it just doesnt wanna work anymore.

Read the manual follow the lead Ryan sent you on, because that doesn't look like corrosion to me. That just looks like PCB resin that has been heated/burned during soldering.  Wire to solder to lead connections between the componentsand PCB should still be ok.

tried what ryan told me to do. nothing. its like i cant move sideways. there is nothing in the manual saying how it locks up.

I'd ask the Scientist but he's in indianapolis right now.

I doubt there's anything wrong with it either.

Try pushing on the joystick as if it is a button and hold it down, and see if anything happens

ive tried holding it up, down, left, right and pushing it inwards for over 15 seconds each. maybe a video will show exactly whats happening. ill get on that now.
