this comes after i just got a new coilpack, clutch, strutbar, battery, altinator and timing job and tune up. od did i mention i did my own head job in sept for $900 ( new head). i also just bought a FMIC, turbotimer, noc sensor and got a 16G Evo sitting at mikes waiting for me to pick it up. Dammit man i'm ready ta kill this thing. i'm about $11,000 into this car after rims and parts and the price of the car its self. so it ain't worth selling. Well like i said shell be brandnew allmost.

the new pump was $50 my cost. but remember man u gotta take off ur timing system to do this. so it is complicated. and time comsuming if ya know what ur doing. takes pro's around 4hrs. so leave ya tons of time for error. good luck. yu'll need it

At lordco they're about $70 I think...? IIRC

It's getting to it that's a little hard, you pretty much have to do the whole timing belt job, and if you're doing that you might as well be doing the timing belt, pulleys, tensioner, etc etc

Hey thanks for the replies, Yes i plan on doing it myself. My wife just had the timing belt replaced a yr and a half ago. The oil pump nut/ bolt had apparently backed it self off, in turn this caused the gear to cock over and tear the seal causing a massive oil leak and torn timing belt!  The car was broken down 2 hours from home and she was at the mercy of a local garage. Only after reading this and other forums i discovered she should have had the balance shaft belt and water pump changed at that time. the car is now approaching 250 000 km and things are starting to wear out.  I question the validity of changing the pulleys though, is there some known problems of pulleys wearing out causing problems in the future if they dont get changed? ( by the way this is the wifes car and its not like she will be doing 1/4 mile runs) Anyways thats all for now

Isn't it supposed to be better to buy oem for us?....On other forums i've read ppl recommending oem cause it's such an important part since it's tucked away behind the timing. Just seems like fair diff. in price form your $70 from lordco compared to $124 from mitsu. with our discount....just thought i'd ask.

Yeah, it's probably worth the price dif.  He was asking for a cheap fix...

Perosonally when I did my Laser Tbelt job I put a Lordco pump in because I have the luxury of being able to fix it for free, labour anyways, if it does go.  And it's not like the timing belt that;s gonna cause a ton of damage when it does go, as long as she doesn't overheat you're fine.

But that said the WP in the Laser is still going strong with 56k on it...
