Oil Light?
« on: February 02, 2004, 02:24:13 pm »
:x  So, on my way to school my oil light comes on. So I pull into the next gas station to check. The oil was full :?  Not knowing what else to do I nervously drove the rest of the way to school and home again. Checking the oil level at each stop. Not only was the oil level fine but the stock gauge was appearing normal. I did notice that when under boost the oil light would flicker.

So what do you think is wrong?
Is it safe to continue driving?

You might want to chech the wire connection on the oil pressure and temp sending units. They are to the right of the oil filter on the housing.

:D  yeah I just finished reading that. I also hear the sending unit itself has been known to fail  and a new one is cheap and easy, even from Satan.

Thanks, I'll be looking into it.

They were nice enough in our cars to give us both the gauge and the light. If one looks good and the other one looks bad, safe to say the car will be fine.
