help me with my clutch master cylinder
« on: January 18, 2004, 09:25:39 pm »
So I replaced my clutch master cylinder on my 2G AWD. (Removing it was a PITA, i couldn't even get a flare wrench in to remove the line, there's much more room on a 2GNT (ESi)!)

After battling that, I replaced the cylinder only to find out that I'm missing a gasket that goes in between the firewall and the cylinder! Should there be one? I know on a 95 ESi there is...

Is there anyharm without that gasket?

After putting it on without the gasket, my clutch now engages earlier (lower) than before (like near the floor)...
I had the push the pedal down a bit to attach rod to the pedal arm, which leads me to think that I need to adjust the push rod length on the master cylinder (to also reduce the free play).

Now how do I adjust this rod? I tried turning the rod with a wrench but it won't budge?!

argh   :x :x :x  help  vice grip?
