Small hole in valve cover
« on: January 11, 2004, 09:58:11 pm »
Today I noticed that my car was leaking some oil from a small hole in my valve cover.

Here's a pic.

I figured a plug or something must've poped out of there, so I sealed it up. Now I've just gone and looked at the picture gallery and noticed that it seems everyone else's valve cover has the same hole.

I was wondering if anyone knew what it's for and if I should unseal it?

Thanks. :D

Take your plug cover off and look in that corner, you'll see the other end of that hole.  It's for when the plug area fills up with oil that it can drain out instead of filling up the spark plug wells.  I'd suggest not plugging it.

U bet dude!  Unseal that sucker!  I actually had a leak in my cover and I plugged it thinking it was something related, but I was totally wrong.  Just another thing to learn :D.
