If your coolant is slowly dissapearing. I would look to find the root cause. Not to be concerned with the fact that the light is on.

My coolant was dissapearing, I had a BHG.

the light is a simple ciruit.  its a switch located in the overflow bottle.  you should be able to easily test it.  I think also a charging system failure can cause the light to come on as well, but this is usually acompanied by the battery light and ebrake light on as well.

If I had a blown hug wouldn't I be blowing smoke or anything?

Not if its pressure into the cooling system.

usually tho with that kind of headgasket leak, you end up having the overflow tank filling with coolant, so therefore the light wouldn't be on,  just overheating/and or no heat from the heater would be noted.

And the over flow tank is dry I don't think that would have anything to do with it but it's hard to tell if it's running like shot cuz of the boost leak

My overflow was empty when my BHG happened.
