93 Front brake calipers
« on: September 14, 2012, 11:44:51 am »
I'm having a really hard time finding the two piston front brake calipers for my 93 TSI Talon.  Lordco can only seem to get the single piston for the 90-92 and its the same part for 93-94...

Is anyone able to get me the Mitsubishi part number for the two piston calipers?

I happen to have a box with 2-piston calipers, drilled rotors, and brand new pads in my storage locker in Vancouver. Shoot me a pm or text me at (778) 238-3739 if you're interested. I bought them from Marke a while ago but never installed them
I dont care what anyone says about my car. It only had 1 error code.

2 piston calipers also came on 1994 and maybe 1993 1g awd's as well.

Ya, I was pretty sure that I had read about them coming on late 93's and 94's.... I could be wrong though.

Will the 95+ calipers bolt right up?

95+ will bolt up, but the brake line is different.  The 95+ use a banjo bolt to attach the line to the caliper, as far as I can remember.

I do recall the fitting is different.

How to deal with it? Ziggy sells a set of braided brake lines with the correct threads on the end to adapt a 1g car to the 2g caliper.
Objects in mirrors appear to be losing.

those lines will attach to the upper lines on your car. remove the small steel line and bracket on the strut. attach them directly to the upper lines.

Turns out that the 95+ brakes have slightly different mounting points as well as the different hydraulic line fitting. I ended up getting a re-manufactured unit from Lordco using the part number 19B-1630.
