Overheating at idle
« on: September 07, 2012, 09:01:55 am »
When I come to a stop my water temp rises pretty dramatically. In the spam of a red light it'll rise from 50% (where it should be) to about 75%. and that's only like 60 seconds or less. As soon as I stop I can see the needle start to climb. But as soon as I start moving it comes back down. I can drive 1000kms and it'll stay at 50% (like yesterday) with no overheating. I topped up the coolant to where it should be but am still having the same issue. I checked the coolant level a while later and it's still about full. Thoughts?
I dont care what anyone says about my car. It only had 1 error code.

yea I third that.  fan(s) not coming on.

or it could be low coolant in the rad or a water pump that has shitty vanes on it. or a plugged core etc
