Turbo manifold question.
« on: August 11, 2012, 01:55:41 pm »
What flange does a factory 1g use? I'm looking into switching to a gt2560R(gt28r) which is a t3 flange. Currently running a 16g. Do I need a new manifold to do this?

Yes you will need a new manifold or an adaptor or something. T3 is not the factory shape - I am not sure what the factory shape name would be other than mitsubishi specific.

you can either get a T3 manifold, or a mitsu housing for the Garrett, or one of the better adapters that goes from the dsm manifold to a t3 hot side.  there are a few nice thin quality looking adapters on ebay for fairly cheap.

keep in mind if you stay with the stock garrett t3 turbine housing you are also on your own with the O2 housing, and thereby, the downpipe.
