Hi guys i need some input and advice...
What is to much knock in volts?
i have been logging last few nights and checking my knock, only issue is
im not sure what is concidered to much and where the safe zone is?
I have to double check but im pretty sure the worst i saw was 1.1 volts
most of time it was .2- .7

Thanks Kent

Generally up to 1.5 volts stock pistons but the ECU retards timing with each knock count so it depends.

Also 3 inch downpipe seems to increase knock count...and the dreaded phantom knock.

none would be ideal!  Over time even the small events can be a problem on older ECU's.  Modern stuff actually tries to sit right at the limit, but thats with much more complicated processors and sensors.

If its retarding timing you are loosing power, mileage, efficiency, torque etc.  So if its knocking, fix it, either thru less timing, correct fuellling, higher octane, less boost, more methanol etc.

You have a serious collection of parts there, you should be able to get it done and make at least a hundred more hp than your goal.

I just realized you are running AEM ems.. The 1g sensor can be recalibrated with AEM.
My 1g knock sensor was custom tune by Lowell it has no little knocks and yet comes on strong when there is real knock.
It is the only real solution I had for my phantom knock.
