Cam I wonder if riders were forced to use them for a season or two they would get better?  Often a good change is not embraced by people.

Wondering is all, it could be a bad idea on bikes.

My suspicion is that it's a bad idea for bikes.
Ducati, if I recall, simply moved on to developing the next chassis. They're also the only ones to run with a stressed engine.
Objects in mirrors appear to be losing.

It's been awhile since I read/saw it, but re: bikes, for a long time manufacturers were trying to make stiffer chassis to cope with the high cornering loads in road racing.  http://www.motomatters.com/analysis/2011/08/08/the_trouble_with_the_ducati_desmosedici_.html
Then they got too stiff and had to find a happy medium to avoid chatter/vibration when leaned over.  Good article.

I was always disappointed by the MIG welded tubes on Ducati frames, especially considering how much they charge for bikes.
