Door lock cylinder pushed in
« on: November 28, 2011, 09:06:16 pm »
So I went to unlock my car today and the lock cylinder got pushed in. The cylinder still locks and unlocks the door, but it's moving freely so the key can't reach all the way in to be able to lock/unlock properly. I took the inside door panel off and nothing seems to be broken, but there's also nothing that seems to be holding the cylinder in place...
I dont care what anyone says about my car. It only had 1 error code.

there is a clip to hold the lock assembly...Its pretty big ...it probably fell down in the door.
You should be able to find it.

What does that clip to? I have a little clip thing that was in the bottom of the door right below the lock cylinder. But it doesn't look like it attaches to anything

It should kind of look like a fat square shaped U and I know that on older vehicles the lock cylinder pushes against the door and the clip just slides over it in a certain spot and should hold it in place.

Don't quote me on this though as I have never experienced it on a DSM.

Figured it out. I found the wrong clip. I looked on the other side and found the clip I need so I just used that one and took that lock cylinder out
