they are just so easy and cheap to get power out of.. same respects to the GTR for up to about 4-500 horsepower they are both easy and fairly cheap to get that far, but 500+ on a dsm is a hell of alot cheaper than 500+ on a GTR :( iv seen some crazy shit forsale on GTRcanada, and from the stuff iv read over there, to properly build an RB26 with forged everything your looking at HUGE dollars. I saw a weisco piston set on there brand new asking like 1400 OBO I remember paying like 550$ for the wiesco pistons in the 4g63 I was building  :-\

you don't even need to do anything to the internals except for cams at the 4-500hp level if your tune is good and your maintenance is up to date.  At least on a 6bolt.

same deal with the RB26, im at 457 on stock internals minus the tomei cams in it... bigger injectors and confirming if I have an aftermarket fuel pump or not will be coming this summer. (Im unsure if I have an aftermarket pump or not lol) I want to break the 500 mark which is do able for sure, I was only set at 18 psi, creeping up to 19/20 psi to get 457. I wont be able to break 500 with the injectors I have and Im going to need to make sure I have an aftermarket pump and If I dont im gunna have to get one.  :)

I definetly hope whoever buys my old car turns it into a monster, its a very very nice example of a 1g.

SHane, what dyno did u put those numbers down?  Are you still on the stock turbo's?

Yeah after i got everything back together i realized how much i have changed on te champagne.

-Rewired/ removed/re-organized all of the alarm wiring and speaker wiring.. also re-did all the sidemarkers/turn signals/headlights so they are like OEM again.  Removed all unnessasary alarm and speaker wires... much more organized and simplified
-Final installed the complete intercooler kit
-Replaced both drivers side and passenger side and drivers side wheel bearings (3 out of 4 were gone to shit)
-Alignment to stop bad tire wear from excessive toe
-Installed bump stops in front suspension to stop it from banging and bottoming out
-diagnosed and fixed the reason why the AC compresser was not turning on (ac module)
-installed custom intake system
-Replaced siezed front drivers side brake caliper
-Sealed up leaky driveshaft yoke
-Installed new 6 bolt and 5-speed tranny (1990) tcase that you provided to zach and that i got with the car.  Nice to have a nice shifting tranny!  No wierd drivetrain noise and nice smooth shifts!
-installed boost gauge and datalogger

-Still need to do:

-Install walbro fuel pump (still has stocker in there)
-Install bigger fuel injectors (510cc gvr4 injectors) and 3" GM MAS,MAF/T from my purple colt (IDC's are going over 100% currently with the 450cc and 1G MAS)
-Install MBC once i get the IDC down...
-Find some strut bars to stiffen the roll up a bit
-Fix drivers side window switch (have to roll it back up with passenger switch)\
-Install CAI (filter where SMIC used to sit)

shes almost to where i want her....

I did some dataloggs over the last few days and its running damn good for the current setup... i was getting some good power and timing... boost creeping to around 17-18 psi but there is very minimal knock counts in 2nd and 3rd (less then 5 counts) and in 4th and 5th there is no counts at all.  Still a little sketchy running 100+% IDC tho... gotta get those bigger jectors in there.  I can really feel the airflow increase with the ported 7cm turbine housing and GVr4 exhuast mani and the o2 housing.

Dynocom dyno w/ eddy brake. HKS GTRS turbos  8)

ps theres a reason the was a mess of audio wiring throughout my old car....

 :D

hit 143db with that setup ... not bad for a single 10.

wow, only 1 wheel bearing was shot that I knew of when I sold it... other 2 prob went to shit cuz the thing sat for 2 + years. AC worked and blew ICE cold when I had it... :\ also had an alignment done on it not long before I took it off the road :( definetly didnt have a seized brake caliper either lol

Shane, you have to come over here with the GTR and get it re dynoed, as it sits, so you are on a level playing field with the rest of us.

yah id love to put it on an awd mustang dyno to get an awhp number, atleast i wasnt on an inertia dynojet dyno  :D the numbers I put down should be close if I was to go on a  rwd mustang dyno... like I said It was loaded up on the dyno with the eddy brake not just an inertia pull like on a dynojet, it was on the dyno being tuned for almost 3 hours.. the car was running pig rich when we ran it the way I got it. AFRS @ 7400 RPM were like 8.5:1  :o and I only put down like 333 horse @ 7450 rpm and max torque was 283 @ 5150. on my first run with the old HKS Fcon piggy back ecu that was in there. (that was our baseline to see what It had as it sat, straight from japan, as is)

ditched the HKS Fcon and went with Nistune chip on factory ECU with USB cable and tuning software and a buddy of mine in victoria who has been tuning strictly GTRS since they were legal tuned it up since it was so rich we had alot of room to lean it out safely. got up to 457 @ 7000 rpm and 404 torque @ 5250 rpm. I still had room to go higher but I installed my electronic boost controller the day before tuning day and we couldnt figure out all the goofy settings on the greddy profec b spec 2 unit and we couldnt get it to boost past 19 psi, I have since learnt how to use it and will be getting it tuned up some more this summer. The engine is healthy, the turbos are easily capable of 500 hp and I dont really have anything restricting my 500 hp goal, just need to make sure my fuel pump isnt stock and if it is replace it with a bigger one and throw some more boost at it.
