« on: January 24, 2011, 11:37:15 am »
i have a greddy type rz going into my 2g, when i get my ecu tuned, will it clear any problems that go with venting a bov or should i just get a recirc fitting for it?

it all depends on the car. did you specifically tell the person tuning it that thats what you wanted was to vent to atmosphere? from my experience with these cars its worth it to just recirculate it. however on the flip side if you got it tuned that way then fly at it. mine is currently not tuned to vent to atmosphere yet i do anyway, and it runs fine. its really hit and miss. sometimes it wont idle when i first start it after it has been sitting for awhile, but then other times it idles just fine.
ahah we both have a good side. lets sue each other!

only ways i know of for dealing with a vented bov on a dsm are

---->speed density/ blow-through gm maft (basically measuring air after the bov.)

---> ecmlink v3 (full only i believe) http://www.ecmtuning.com/wiki/idleair?s=bov

probably have a hard time with aircare, poor fuel economy and maybe some other issues even if its is tuned for it, because the mass airflow sensor and ecu won't be on speaking terms for part of thier relationship  :)

so keep the stock bov for aircare, problem is is that i dont know if that will be the only reason it fails air care if it does lol

no, but its a big one.

You don't know for sure that you will loose your football game if you play in slippery soled dancing shoes either, but I bet you would wear cleats if someone told you about them  ;)
