Damn, if those are stock cams I have a set that you can have. Also have the rockers minus the rust.

I hate getting ripped off too.

Later, Vlad.

i have seen that a lot on cams.  usually if you take a 3m pad and a bit of oil on it the surface rust will come right off.... just make sure there is no putting in the bearing surfaces after you clean it up... if there is none then your good to go.  THe bearing surfaces dont look too bad at all.

I would say you can clean those up and they will be fine.  The rockers... well as long as the rust didnt get into the needle bearings its the same deal.. some oil./wd40 and a 3m pad should clean them all up.

what kind of cams are those?  where did you get them from?

Alright I bought this head from a member cuz it's got evo springs and new valves n such. He said there was light light rust. I took to my machinist and the rust is bad only way to re use them is get them grinded down. As for the rockers I didn't know until I put the new lifters in. luckily enough my head that came off the car had bad valves so I robbed the cams n rockers from it. He told me everything with a little love would clean up but guess not eh. People gotta know karmas a bitch, she bites hard. So don't sell this shit to good members.

why you would buy stock parts online, i dont get.  stock parts are very abudant locally.  i think i must have recylced at least 2-3 pairs of cams in the move

hopefully you talked to the person to try and resolve it before posting here publicly =\

part of being a good member is using tact when dealing with indiscretions, or misunderstandings.. of course if you did try to resolve it in private then

disregard :)

I agree with Brett, I bet those could be cleaned up with a 3m pad and oil.

If you want, I can have a look at those in person before you spend any more money.

And at worst, take them to Geoff at Colt, and have him spin them on his cam machine and clean them up.  I have seen some cores he had and they looked worse than that.

Lame, that thing has been sitting in the rain and I would be careful of the valve springs as well, even a slight amount of rust on a spring, even after cleaning it off will create a stress riser.
