They don't have a blanket "15 year" rule like we do - however technically any car can be legalized but it has to go through the same process any normal car from a manufacturer would, which means crash tests, emissions tests, etc...
In fact, for a while the r33 *was* legal in the us because it did meet all the requirements, but I guess they changed that after motorex dissolved.
