Well with the Shootout closing in, I was thinking about useing some, but not sure if I will bennifit from it.

If I can run say 18lbs of boost before I hit fuel cut, will C-16 help me any if I can't turn up the boost anymore anyway? I haven't logged my car ever so I have no idea if it's knocking at 18lbs or pulling timeing, but seat of the pants tells me it's all good. On the same note my narrowband it pegged at full lean when boosting, would C-16 make it run richer? And yes I know I should just rip that narrowband out and throw it at the nearest honda but it kinda helps.

If I do end up buying some, how much do I need if I show up with like 1/8 to 1/4 tank?
like 5,10,20L?
and whats the cost per liter?
Thanks

It comes by the gallon, I hink 20 bucks a gallon. Less fuel you have in your car the less weight, I think wiht about 2 or 3 gallons you shouldn't have a worry.

C-16 won't help eliminate fuel cut, that's a function of the ECU.  The main benefit of C-16 is that it's much more resistant to pre-ignition so you can run a LOT more boost before it starts to knock.  Careful though, that damn stuff is addictive.

So what your saying is that if I can't run more boost due to fuel cut, it wont help any? maby I will do 1 run without it then add it and see if there is any change without changing anything. If there is a substancial change it would let me know if I am knocking bad at the current boost I am running.

C-16 likes to be run leaner than pump gas, so you may make more power by getting your timing back if some is being pulled now.

You could split a 5 gal with someone, put it in when your tank is really empty, drive it nice for a few min to make sure its in the system and go hammer on it.  You will know soon enough  :)

Oh, you MUST remove your cat and put in a straight pipe, the cat will not last with leaded fuel at all.  And it will plug it up, so you will actually loose power.

You should just have to idle the car to distribute the fuel.  With a return system like we have the pump runs flat out all the time and will be returning the most fuel and, you'd think mixing the tank up the best, just at idle.

I went to my 2 local sources for race gas and they didn't have c-16. 114 octane, leaded was all they had. They told me even though I have no cat that running leaded fuel will foul my O2 sensor. Not immediately, but after a few tankfulls. Is this a valid concern or is everyone running c-16 just changing their o2 sensors twice a year? They say I should run unleaded 114 octane race fuel. They can bring it in but I'm not going to buy a whole barrell at a time. What's been everyone's experience?

Pretty much just change the O2 out when it dies, I had one last 4 years running c16 every summer.

You gotta pay to play. ;)

Thanks Fraser, I guess Your Mileage May Vary, huh... My local guys made it seem like within 100 miles, my o2 would be dead. Just trying to protect their rep i guess.
