Boost gauge hose?
« on: May 25, 2003, 03:44:41 pm »
What have you guys used to hook up your boost gauges?

Right now I have some crappy tire vacuum hose , but its way too thick, and its making my a-pillar panel buldge out and it looks really ugly. Not only that, but the a-pillar is clamping the hose down a bit, and giving me some pretty crappy readings.

I was hoping to get some smaller silicone hose and maybe an adapter for the back of my autometer boost guage

thoughts?

The stuff that come with the gauges is usually about a 1/8" plastic tubing and attaches with pressure fittings. You should be able to find it somewhere like Home Depot or Lordco but I'm not sure.

Yeah, some hard nylon tubing works well for boost gauges.  You could go to industrial supply stores like Grainger etc for it.  It doesn't kink easily, not if you get the thickwalled variety, and I much rather use that than rubber vacumn hose.  It's 1/8 for most boost gauges.

Works fine for me.  Just keep it in an easy curve.

Check out Princess Auto.  I know in Kelowna here they have the kits for around $5.  Better than the $20 at Lordco.

Just in case anyone else needs one.  The one that came with your autometer guage is probably a bit better quality.
