Which brand springs to get?
« on: April 30, 2003, 05:16:35 pm »
I'm planning to lower my car about an inch or so.  I have a pair of KYB GR-2 at the back so if I get springs I will change the front 2 shocks too.  What kind of springs do they make for our cars and approximately how much is it?                   I do not want to buy any camber kit though.  Is it alright without camber kit for just one inch job?
Also, would there be any rubbing?  I have slightly oversized 215/55R16 snow tires on.
Thanks.

I would suggest Eibach Pro. They lower about 1.25" and are very well made. Eibach has been making performance springs for Euro cars for a LONG time.

That or H&R.  But the H&R can be a bit expensive...

I have a set of suspension techniques ... ~1.25" drop or maybe a bit more. They've settled in nicely. Not too low.  THey feel awesome but I couldn't say how they feel with aftermarket shocks cuz i still have stockers.  got 'em from L&R for $275.

I have a set of suspension techniques too, they are great, handles great and a nice hight. Only thing is on very long trips the ride gets kind of annoying. Otherwise I love them.

My first choice would be the Eibach Pro-kit too.  But then it is kinda pricy new and it's hard to find a set used.  Anyone know anyone selling used springs?
For the ones with suspension technique springs, do they sag after a long time?  Thanks.

yea yours looked good Cole :)

how is your alignment, and do you need extra parts to make up for the different geometry?  I dont wanna buy extra pieces and put them in, I just want to put in the springs and go drive it.

I didn't own the car when they were put in so I don't know what was need, if anything, for the alignment. I doubt that anything was needed for the rear other than the springs tho cause it's live axle setup unlike you ppl that have AWD and independent rear suspension, buggers. I want AWD :moon:

yea, Sportlines are too low for my tastes, even with a camber kit.  Just the thought of that expensive 304 stainless getting ripped off on an ant or earthworm, makes me sick :)

But you will own my ass at autocross. :)
