Questions about tuning...

How abouts do you make a base fuel map?

I mean, if you had to make a fuel map from scratch, how the hell would u go about it without blowing your motor...

Anyone have experience with a tec3 standalone?

For starters, you would figure out how long your injectors of a given size need to be open for based on your desired air fuel ratio during each event....  And there is a lot more after that.

This is a topic not easily explained in a post.  Ignition timing I would argue is the biggest role.  You probably want to consult a general engine fundementals book on the subject.

How I try and make a base map is look at what the stock ecu does, and then how my setup differs, and adjust accordingly.

well the tec3 software takes those parameters in and generates a base fuel map with ignition and everything based on how you installed the crank trigger...

I'm assuming i got that right cause the engine cranks over... but i still gotta fix the cold starting enrichments...  this is sooo not worth it on a stock 420A...

*update*
So I took it our for a lil drive...  mmm, 2300rpm @ 30% throttle (54kpa) and its 16.4:1 afr... shiiit :P
