Removed the lower honeycomb, Now Idle sucks.
« on: December 23, 2004, 12:20:44 am »
My engine is Idleing horribly. Its automatic, when its in gear it sputters between 700 and 900, when its in park it surges between 1000 and 1500.
I think its because I removed the lower honeycomb on the MAS. Does anyone know what kind of material to make a flapper system out of and how exactly you do it. I can't seem to find the info on the VFAQ.

Thanks.

I'm confused, why don't you put it back in?

I threw it away
stupid, stupid, stupid
But I did it when my engine wasn't running. I just had it rebuilt. It idled great before the re and re. They couldn't figure out what was wrong. They're hoping it just clears up before the first service at which point they'll fix it. I know a bad idle could be a lot of things but I have a feeling its my fault.

I removed mine and the idle became wonky :D

So I've installed it back, main mods are the silencer and the airbox.

I think I have a stock NT MAF in the garage, I'll have to look to make sure

$30 and it's yours, that is, if you're NT... otherwise it won't work.
