1ga clutch issue
« on: December 16, 2004, 06:17:17 pm »
this isnt a normal clutch issue, i just can't figure out a better way to describe this. anyhow, im getting an autopage 855lcd alarm/remote start, and i know our cars have to have the clutch in to start them! the car audio manager at my store said it's possible to bypass the clutch saftey thing we have, but will it work? can i just cut a wire somewhere and start the car without pushing in the clutch?

thanks for any help you can give me!

Just unplug the switch.  If you stick your head under the dash it should be obvious which switch it is.

umm... no.  There's a switch on the tranny that's triggered by shifting into reverse.  Everything else is mechanical.

The Compustar alarms do not turn your car off until AFTER you shut all the doors, therefore it is impossible to leave your car in gear, as it stays running until you're out of it.

In the case where your car has a turbo timer, the turbo timer won't start counting down until your door shuts, so again, impossible to leave it in gear.

My turbo timer isn't hooked to the doors but regardless I'm always leaving the car while it's still running, so you should be safe as long as you run a turbo timer too.
