Grinding noisr from tranny?
« on: October 23, 2004, 05:13:31 pm »
Ok so Jarred and I installed his old exhasut on my talon today. but after we were all done when u leave the car runnin in Nutral it makes a loud grinding noise. Push the clutch in and it stops. Drive in gear and it stops :S . Is this my release barring going? Make no sence it didn't make any noise when i got to his house, only after he installed the exhaust. But i never even touched it! Your input would be greatly aprecated. Thanx

my 510 does that. its just the throw out bearing dieing.

however my friends Tracker did that to...and it was the whole tranny getting ready to grenade. (found out the hard way)

If it stops when the clutch is pushed in you've got a bad input shaft bearing.  Say hello to a tranny rebuild....

Been there, done that, it sucks.
