Rocker arm question?
« on: October 17, 2004, 04:35:12 pm »
Ok I am working on a car right now with a broken rocker arm (#2 cylinder intake valve) This is not a dsm BTW, but I had planned on pulling thw hole rocker arm assembly and replacing it with a used one, I have been thinking that maybe this is not a good idea. My question is won't I tear up the cam with the diffrent rocker arm assembly due to it having been worn diffrently? Any thoughts or advice would be helpful.

I know on V8s you replace lifters with a cam, because they wear together.  Now whether or not a new rocker will wear onto a cam or not I dunno, give it a try I guess, if it works you're money ahead, if not you have to replace everything anyways.
