Hey guys,

Anyone has one of the latest Compustar alarmes installed?

Wanted to ask a favor. I got Compustar installed in my DSM, but got no remote. So the idea is to check if your remote registers with my alarm and hopefully operates it before I blow money on my own remote.

Thanks,

Why did you not get a remote for your compustar?  Hope the compustar wasn't out of a stolen car!  Anyway, you have to program the headunit to accept a new remote.  I'm pretty sure it'll work if you buy the remote and get the installer to program it in for you...

You should have got a remote with it.  I got two remotes with mine.  Go back to whoever installed it and smack them.

Only the newer ones have two remotes.  And the second one is only a 1way remote.

Yeah. I got the car with alarm, but no remote. To register a new remote you need to turn the key on/off 5 times and press a certain buttons combination on the remote.

Just want to make sure I got a functional alarm in my car before I spend >100 bucks on the remote.

Do you know which model of the compustar alarm is it?  The newest spread spectrum model only comes with one remote that is not replaceable...
