fuel pressure-normal or not?
« on: November 22, 2003, 12:43:37 pm »
Ok, so I am running a rewired Walbro 255, a 90 Colt SOHC rising rate regulator(used) and Hahn Racecraft 625 injectors.  The rest of the fuel system is stock.

At warm idle(drove for a half an hour) I get 47 psi with the pressure reg vacuum line connected, and 54 psi with it off.

seems to hold the pressure well, only bleeds off a little bit, like 1psi in a half an hour.

So is this good, normal etc?

Anything I am doing wrong, or shoud do differently?

thanks

I was hoping you would answer, being the Colt guru and all.  We may be the only guys running these regulators.

If you pick up an electric fuel gauge, for a manual one to put on you hood for just one pull. Then you can see if your pressure is dropping off near redline.  If the reg isn't being over run and is working normaly, it will hold the correct pressure all the way through a pull.  IF.. 1/2 way through a pull your pressure drops , or stops rising with boost, then you are at the point that the reg isn't being overrun and starts to function normaly.

yea, I kinda am thinking about running it up on the hood for 1 or 2 pulls and see.

Don't really know how to accomplish this tho, flexible hose?  Also without cutting, where to route it?
