Local Powder Coating Referral - Thumbs Up!
« on: July 10, 2011, 11:03:44 am »
thought id give a heads up to anyone that's looking for a GOOD local powder coating shop - they also do anodizing

i recently dropped off a spare valve cover to Surf-Tech Industries in Port Moody for powder coating (near Rocky Point Park). Tony the shop manager was easy to deal with and is a young car guy himself.  Pricing was respectable at roughly $80-90 (it can vary slightly based on color) and they polished the raised lettering  ;D

Is the lettering ground after the coating? If it is, wouldn't that cause the coating to fail when the grind oxidizes?

i couldnt tell you maurits as i dont know the process.  itd didnt apprear to be sanded off as the lettering were quite smooth or almost polished and did not look like bare metal.
