thats just a good reason to build a new long block and have that as a slow build replacement. ;)

Then google.
Then read old postings about it.
Then ask.

Sucks Ken.
wow 20 is pretty bad...
that said I know at least two of us (me included) have driven on 3.15 cylinders for a while... but not that low!

I managed to make my "stock" talon run a 14.09 on 3 cylinders, and hartman's beasty was running 12's on 90psi for a long time!

yea roger that it was!!  I actually think it went 12.52 on closer to 50 psi in #2. and #1 was only probably 105 or so at the time.

Do it in the engine bay.  Pull the head and oil pan, pull the rods(keep track of the order of rods/pistons.  Quickly deglaze hone the cylinders and clean it up well.  New rings, rod bearings, head gasket and put it back togeather.  Break it in according to motomans page(fun way)

Of course when you pull the head, find out it may just be a burned exhaust valve or sticking intake valve.  Mine was not of course but you may get lucky.

Leak down test the motor before you start.. Pinpoint your compression leak...
Yea it might be a valve..

I ran a 12.7 with 20 PSI on one hole and about 40 in the other. ;) It's amazing what enough boost can compensate for.  Sure makes reading spark plugs entertaining.

I discovered this because of oil spraying all over the engine from being blown out the dipstick hole; somehow I don't think I could drive very long like that ;) Which also kinda points to blown piston rather than valve problem...

Its all back together so I can move it around my yard. It could probably limp to somewhere else on the Island, but I wouldn't make any road trips.

PS ad updated on Craigslist & usednanaimo....$500 without seats, belts & lights. That gets you a caged talon & lotsa parts.....
