I believe Australia has almost the exact import laws as we do, with one difference. They cant import japanese cars unless they are 15 years old or older UNLESS the car they are trying to import was never available in the Australian market.

therefore , the skyline was never produced in Australia, they are allowed to import it no matter how old it is.
