to know for sure, jack up the offending corner, remove wheel

push on pedal.  try to rotate rotor(wheel is off)  if it sticks, crack bleeder screw.  If lots comes out and now it rotates freely it was sticking in the piston.

if it didn't free up, push the pedal again to make sure its still stuck fully.  Then crack the line loose at the first attachment point on the strut bracket.  If it frees up, its in that lower soft line.  If not push the pedal again and crack it loose on the second attachment point.

Each time you crack it loose you are releasing the pressure at a different point, eliminating anything upstream of that point.

I was going to take a second look at things tonight... but I fell asleep. :/

However, I did just find out that Ziggy has calipers, minus brackets and sliders, for only $120/pair. And reasonably priced stainless lines, plus the flex line that attaches to the strut housing.

I just did the stainless lines from Ziggy.  Thumbs up!

The fronts come with 2 pieces.  one line from the fenderwell to the little Z shaped steel line on the strut body, then another one from there to the caliper.  NO soft lines at all on the car now.

Which ones did you go with, John? He's got three brands available.

Too bad he doesn't sell rears, or at least they aren't listed. I need to do my rear caliper(s) and want some SS lines for the rears. Only shows fronts. I'll have to email him.

Can 2g's be put on 1g's?

I have rears from him Ryan.  Cam, I don't know which ones exactly, they are clear(no colour) and fit nicely.

If you have 2g 2 piston front calipers, you can get 2g brake lines too.  2g calipers have banjo fittings whereas 1g large calipers have pipe thread fittings.

2g rear calipers won't fit a 1g I don't think. I could be wrong on that tho.

Well, problem solved. Kinda.

Ordered the calipers, lines, and intermediate lines plus a wicked little catch can.

If that doesn't solve the issue, I'll just drive the damn thing into a pole.

Well if you hit the pole on the side it isn't pulling, it will probably start pulling that way and fix the problem

Yeah doubt that would work, got new caliper on the rear today, damn that old one was fucked something fierce. Still want to do SS lines but I'll put that off for a while. New/Better pads would be of more help with stopping anyways. I have a really old set of porterfields on the front thy I bought off Lowell at L&R, back in 02?

Lol, yeah I should just get some new pads, brand new 95% material left, 10 years old. I drove it a lot :p

oh... the banjo bolts will interchange with the 1g style fittings i think;.

My 93 colt uses the banjo style brake lines like a 2G. and i put on 1g calipers on it... all i had to do is double up a crushwasher to make it work.  I assume you could do the same and use the 1g style line on a 2g caliper... but maybe not.

I think its a pipe thread with the 1g but like you, maybe not.  I was told by a couple of people that the 2g 2 piston calipers and the 1g 2piston calipers are different.

Well I think if u look close at 1g calipers you will see its not pipe thread.... It uses a metric thread and then a compression style tapered tip, and a reciever cup on the caliper  that seals it all up.  If it was indeed pipe threads sealing it then you would have to use a sealant tape or whatever... And we all know that's not what u do on a 1g..

So the 1g calipers have the reciving cup using the same threading as the banjo bolts do...but there is the high pressure receiving cups in the 1g calipers... Soif you were to swap 1g calipers to a 2g... Then u could make it work with doubling up the copper crush washers like I did...  Or shorten the banjo bolt.. But the 2g calipers would not work cuz they do not have the receiving cups to use with the 1g style lines
