question about engine swapping
« on: December 07, 2003, 11:15:19 am »
Hi everybody,

My timming belt broke on my 92 tsi 2wd so I'm planning on rebuilding the engine and trying to get more power out of it. I was wondering if the engine could fit into a 2g awd car without too many modifications.

any comments would be greatly appreciated
thanks

I think that'll just be a standard 6 bolt to 7 bolt 2g swap.  You might have to change the plate behind the flywheel to match the AWD tranny though.  There's alot of info out there for 6 bolt to 7 bolt swaps.

Is Great, dont forget you might need to use a potentiometer, I had to in my 97 because my car was shuddering and wouldnt go over 120 klicks.
Now that I used the Potentio its all good. Use a 91-92 style cam angle sensor, not the newer ones.
