weird hissing noise..

yup.. i came home last nite, and before i turned off my car, i hear this hissing sound coming out of my engine bay, so i checked it out, and i couldn't see anything out of the ordinary, but never happened again since today. could it be my wastegate actuator? injectors?

sound is very much like a hissing snake, varies on timing (not really consistent to a point), and hisses for a brief moment in a series of 1 - 3 times when it does happen or so i remember... oh and its like right near the engine block, like under, or behind, or inside it.... thats where the noise is loudest.....

What kind of vaccum are you pulling on your boost gauge.  To me it sounds like you have have a small vaccum leak somewhere, like a crack in one of the hoses or something.  Boost leak test maybe?

im getting -20psi during idle. i hope its not another air leak... i fixed 3 leaks a month ago at kinetic. right now car is boosting alrite at 1.0bar until at 5000rpm, then it drops off gradually to .8bar at redline. is that considered normal? i figure its just because its a stock turbo. and that the turbo shaft has a little free play... plus the noise went away... weird... but good i guess.

I 2nd vaccum leak, just keep looking around till you pinpoint the hisss.
