hey guys

i am inatalling my walbro 255 fuel pump in my 92 tsi front wheel drive talon. i was just wanting to know of any things that i should look out for, or hints/tips from the guys that have installed one before.

When pulling out your pump, the nut that connects the hardline leading out of the tank to the rest of the system is a WHORE to get undone, or at least it can be.  I have heard of a few people not having a hard time with it but I sure did.  Soak it in WD-40 a day before to avoid the grief.

don't do it with a full tank of gas  :shock:    newb here tried that bright idea a couple years ago LOL ya... gas everywhere...

on a fwd , it might be hard to get the actually pump assemble out as the cross member is in the way.
you will have to drop the tank a little.
do it in a open area, so the gas vapours and go somewhere or you will have a very stinky garage. :)

Spray the sending unit bolts with penitrating oil before hand and let it soak. Repeat for a couple days before attempting to remove the nuts off the studs.

btw jovan, that was a great link, helps out a heck of a lot.

my nuts and bolts are soaking....that doesnt sound too funny now does it   hehehe
