Need a place to get my car scanned (CEL)
« on: July 23, 2006, 04:17:51 am »
Well I have high idle issues and I was informed that the TCS can send a CEL if it's faulty.  So a couple of days ago a CEL popped up when I had my high idle.

I need a place to get my car scanned and maybe even logged.  I want to know what is wrong since I am just assuming, and hoping, that it is the TCS since this would help me fix my high idle and mean that my engine is ok.

No Rob, I didn't install the Turbo rfl bov due to the cel.  BTW why would that cause a cel?

The car just has a Evo 3 16G and a metal UICP.

I dont know why it would cause a CEL but after I vented for a week I got one, aswell as a crappy high idle. I reconected it and it ran good again.
Disconect your battery for 5 min and that should clear it, if it comes back then you got a problem.

Well about 1 month ago I was driving (had high idle) and while the car was in gear a CEL came up.  I took it home checked and found nothing wrong.  I found a groung wire wasn't hooked up so the battery got disconnected while putting it on.  The CEL never came on again untill now.

I don't want to neglect it just incase it's something important or reveals a reason for my high idle(since I read somewhere that a bad TCS can throw a CEL)

This is why I need to find someone who can do this.
