Mission July 7th
« on: June 29, 2006, 10:38:37 am »
A bunch of us islanders are coming over to Mission next week (July 7th).  Two of us are DSMers (Ryan Hobbs and myself).

We are hoping to see some other fast DSMs out there!

you don't NEED a cf hood to race  ;) or is your original damaged beyond use?

Basically, if your car is older than 1995, drain your coolant, and fill it with just water and a bottle of RedLine Water Wetter.  If you are planning on running 13.99 or faster get or borrow a Snell 95 or newer motorcycle helmet.  Show up with jeans and a long sleeved shirt.  Drive. :)

If you are planning on running faster than 11.99 or 10.99 congrats, and you have a couple of other items to think about.

The trunk and passenger compartment of the vehicle must be empty prior
to racing.

Wtf ? Thats a hell of alot of work for me to take my whole system out, is this true ?

I beleive many BCDSMr's have gone to mission with systems, as long as it looks secured they shouldn't mind.  I think they want loose items out of your trunk like spare oil etc.

yes, all your crap needs to be secure.  They don't want something coming loose in a collision and becoming a missle.

besides your car will be faster if its lighter.

I may come by to watch, possibly get horribly embarassed with the 240.  If I go and watch, I can bring my helmet for someone to use (people with less than 50 rep points need not apply).

I thought this as well, but the Mission Raceway park rules still set the Roll Bar limit at 11.99, not 11.49 like the NHRA.  I assume they just have not updated their site.  Can anyone confirm this?
