I can't wait to see this car finished!

Do you have a complete parts list and know how much this will cost you?

Total with shit like new wires/coil/oil change - $5000

Got my 91 FWD Turbo Laser for a grad present ($1750), BS belt snapped, rebuild head and did some maintenance like brakes etc for $500.

Bought 91 TSi AWD shell w/fucked tranny and motor for $600, made $600+ back on it. Bought used Bellhousing for $50 and tossed together a shitbox of a tranny (which is currently in my car and I perdict will be the first thing to go). Swapped motor from Laser into Talon, free, plus oil change, fluids, 14b compressor housing O-ring etc.

Soooooo All in all....5500$ for parts is all I really paid after all the parts I've sold. And I guess $1750 which I thank my mom for. Without that grad present I never would have discovered DSM's and my love for mechanics. :D

5500$ and 11's? We'll find out.

If my calculations are off, well blame the rum+coke not me, oooh and LOOK! All my money signs are in the right spots! Now you don't have to punch me in the throat Martin.    :P

(......Holy Fuck I can't Beleive I've dropped that much money)

Lil change of plans, I need to be able to eat, so I'm going to run as much boost as I can with zero knock until the HG goes, then I'll do the ARP's. I just don't wanna go the "replace one stud at a time" method, not feeling it. And I think I'll be fine like this.

Couple more pics, I had to verify wheel specs.

Turns out I have a T04 69 Trim Exhaust wheel, (O-trim) which makes my turbo a SCM-6169E.  :D

Hey Wayne, is it me or did that compressor wheel rub the housing at one time in its life?? The long vane looks fatter in the middle like it rubbed and the short one above it looks bent??   could just be the pic though

Pretty sure it's just the pic. Here's another pic that might help show the bend and shape of the vanes.

Also, take a look at the first pic I posted in that last post. All the vanes get fatter right at the transition from exduce to inducer...I have another pic that might show it even better, but It's not uploaded yet, and I'm at work.

Dont scare me like that Mitch, you had me all worried when I first read it.  :P

The turbo had 12,000 KM's on it, then it was rebuilt, the comp wheel was replaced with that rebuild, then 4000 Km's were put on it, and now it's mine, everything is in pretty good shape, besides for the crack in the outer edge of a bolt hole on the turbine housing to manifold flange. Doesn't effect performance though, so meh.

Meh, this is only a temporary setup to get me through the spring/summer...

My next build this winter will be a lil lessadvertised, documented yes, but just not as out there.

Plus it might be cool for some member who haven't seen certain mods to have a look at them...I had never seen a PTE 56 trim GT40 wheel until now.

At the end of it all I will have a full thread of my cars progress, not from the begining, but from the begining of this crazy accumilation of mods that has me hooked like a Gibtechwarrior.

Agreed I don't care if I get beat by another DSM, it just lets you know how much faster you can make yours

Getting beat by another Talon was the best thing to ever happen to my car.
But I will get my revenge one day.... Mr.Andrews your going down...one day
