Gonna start putting the cylinder head back together.

I have the shop manual and the Haynes manual, plus 'twas I that rippered it up in the first place,  so I'm not anticipating any real difficulties...

Still, if anyone out there has a few words of wisdom for me as I tackle this daunting task,  speak up!

When they say that 'torque to yield' bolts are one time use only, they mean it.  Of course, I have no experience with having this problem

Torque the cam caps down with the cams in place but no rockers installed

Check and see that the cams spin freely and that there are no
"dragging" caps. I've seen bent cams that don't spin very well.

Bleed down the lifters, you don't want to bend any of those shiny valves.

Be sure to install the 2 metal timing belt protector plates before installing the cams, they're a bitch to put on after the cam sprockets and timing belt are in the way.

Don't forget  the alignment dowels (it'll cost you labor and a new head gasket  )

Thanks for the tips guys.

I just finished putting all the stem seals, valves, springs, and retainers in.   The shop manual mentions orientating the springs so that the color coded marker is at the rocker end.   Needless to say, I could not see any color codes anywhere on the springs.
