You only asked 'where.'

For pricing it is always best to call the shop and ask.

Do a search for Timing Belt replacement and you will come across some prices as well as a recommended replacement lists.  You 'should' replace most of the stuff at the same time. (Water pump, BS Belt, PS Belt, etc.)

It can be a cheap as you want or as expensive.  This is why it best to call the shops.

I know, but I have a family friend mechanic who told me to buy the kit and he'll do the job for me.

Then call up the shops and ask how much the kit of parts is.  It's not like they won't let you buy them if the shop installs it.

If they were shops like that, I don't think they'd still be around with the number of DIYers here.

How much do you want?  Do you want new bearings/pulleys, new water pump, etc all in there?  A timing belt is about $50, hydraulic tensioner $80, balance shaft belt ~$20, etc.  Are you going to replace your oil seals too?  It's about $6 per seal from lordco, and you'll need 5.

Haha Artem you crazy Russian mobster! No that guy was not my friend who did the belt job on the Laser...he was some guy who just came from Iran and I didn't know much about DSMS and he offered to do it for like dirt cheap. Anyways he messed it up and bought me a new, better engine haha. This time it's gonna be a lisensed mechanic doing the work with years of experience. BUT...I may just end up doing it at L&R, get a nice complete job done.

Don't bet on it.  Expect any posts that have a lot of them to be deleted.
